Ohlala About us

Our history

Ohlala Placements is the result of a love story that began in 2009 between its founder, Jérôme, and the Erasmus + programme.

Jérôme had the chance to experience Erasmus + from the point of view of the various players involved. Firstly, he managed the administrative side of Erasmus + mobility at a French sending organisation (the CFA of the CMA 44 in Nantes). Then he spent 6 months as an Erasmus + trainee in the United Kingdom. This experience was an eye-opener and marked a turning point in his life and career. Initially planned for only 6 months, the experience lasted 9 years. During that time, Jérôme worked for an intermediary organisation that developed and supported Erasmus + work placements in the UK and Ireland in the hospitality and catering sector. This enabled him to deepen his knowledge of these sectors, to gain a better understanding of the different facets of mobility and to fully appreciate the constraints and difficulties encountered by each player (trainees, sending organisations, host companies). Over the course of 9 years, he has developed a passion for helping young professionals to enjoy Erasmus + experiences and encouraging them to think higher and further ahead in their careers.

In setting up Ohlala Placements, Jérôme wants to put this passion and his expertise to good use to create rewarding and enriching Erasmus + experiences for young French and European professionals and the companies that host them.

OurValues

We advocate respect and tolerance

It's important to us that everyone we select is treated fairly and with respect. We're all different, but everyone deserves the same chance to succeed. That's why we're committed to supporting everyone to the best of our ability and helping everyone to achieve their goals and have a memorable experience.

We have a high duty of care towards the participants we accompany. We also have a duty of care to host companies and sending organisations to ensure that their expectations are also met.

We love what we do. We're passionate about helping others and setting up the best possible Erasmus + experiences! And it's great fun and even inspiring at times to work alongside professionals who are so passionate and talented in their profession.

Whether it's through our rigorous selection of candidates, the companies that host them or our services, we are committed to doing things the right way. We will always work hard to give everyone the best possible experience. In return, we expect everyone involved to do their best to make the most of that experience. We will always choose quality over quantity.

The system we have put in place is designed to ensure that everyone involved (sending organisation, participant and host company) can reap the benefits. The project aims to be a step forward and an accelerator for the employability and careers of young professionals.

Every individual, and therefore every project, is different, and that's the beauty of our business! So we try to adapt as best we can to be responsive and efficient, taking into account the person and the circumstances. Our services are designed to offer what we believe to be the best experience. However, we are always open to suggestions and communicate regularly with our partners to come up with the project that best suits everyone's needs and expectations.

These are things that are important to us. They are also key elements in the success of a project. If everyone plays the transparency card, we are better equipped to support and help the various players involved. Good communication is the key to a project's success!

Building a relationship of trust is important to the smooth running and success of every collaboration. By selecting a participant or choosing to work with a host company or sending organisation, we are placing our trust in the person or organisation. In return, we hope to earn everyone's trust by working hard to offer everyone the best possible experience.

We sincerely believe that we are... and we want to surround ourselves with people who share our values and who firmly believe in the benefits of the Erasmus + programme and the development of young European professionals through it.
