Ohlala About us

Our history

Ohlala Placements is the result of a love story between its founder, Jérôme, and the Erasmus + programme that has been going on since 2009.

Jérôme had the chance to experience Erasmus + in the shoes of the different actors involved. Firstly, he managed the administrative aspect of Erasmus + mobilities within a French sending organisation (the CFA of the CMA 44 in Nantes). Then he was an Erasmus + trainee for 6 months in the United Kingdom. This experience was an eye-opener and marked a turning point in his life and career. Rather than staying in the UK for 6 months, the experience lasted for 9 years. During this time, Jerome worked for an intermediary organisation developing and supporting Erasmus + placements in the UK and Ireland in the hospitality and catering industries. This allowed him to deepen his knowledge of these sectors, to better understand the different aspects of mobility and to fully appreciate the constraints and difficulties encountered by each actor (trainees, sending organisations, host companies). During 9 years, he developed a passion for helping young professionals to live quality Erasmus + experiences and encouraging them to see higher and further for their career.

By creating Ohlala Placements, Jérôme wishes to put this passion and his expertise to good use in order to set up rewarding and enriching Erasmus + experiences for young European professionals and the companies that host them.

Our Missions

Promoting professional mobility and empowering young Europeans through rewarding and enriching experiences in France. Work to offer them a real springboard for their future career.

Select the right participant profiles and offer host companies an alternative to recruitment with young Europeans trained and passionate about their profession

Accompanying and supporting all project actors from A to Z (selection, preparation, regular follow-up, support and problem solving) to maximise the chances of success for each project

OurValues

It is important to us that all those selected are treated fairly and with respect. We are all different, but everyone deserves the same chance to succeed. That's why we are committed to supporting everyone to the best of our ability and helping everyone achieve their goals and have a memorable experience.

We have a high duty of care towards the participants we accompany. We also have a duty of care to host companies and sending organisations to ensure that their expectations are also met.

We love what we do. We are passionate about helping others and providing the best possible Erasmus + experiences! And it's pleasant and even inspiring sometimes to be around professionals who are so passionate and talented in their work.

Whether it is through our careful selection of candidates, the companies that host them or our services, we are committed to doing things the right way. We will always work hard to give everyone the best possible experience. In return, we expect everyone involved to do their best to make the most of that experience. We will always choose quality over quantity.

The system we have put in place is designed to benefit all actors (sending organisation, participant and host company). The project aims to be a step forward and an accelerator for the employability and career of young professionals.

Each individual and therefore each project is different, and that is the beauty of our job! We therefore try to adapt as best we can to be responsive and efficient, taking into account the person and the circumstances. Our services are designed to provide what we believe is the best experience. However, we are always open to suggestions and communicate regularly with our partners to propose the project that best suits the needs and expectations of each individual.

These are things that are important to us. They are also key elements in the success of a project. If everyone plays the transparency card, we are better equipped to support and help the different actors. Good communication is the key to a successful project!

Building a relationship of trust is important for the smooth running and success of every collaboration. By selecting a participant or choosing to work with a host company or sending organisation, we place our trust in the individual or organisation. In return, we hope that we can earn everyone's trust by working hard to provide the best possible experiences for everyone.

We sincerely believe that we are... and we want to surround ourselves with people who share our values and who strongly believe in the benefits of the Erasmus + programme and the development of young European professionals through it.
